Not all publishers are the same. 

  • Most offer funding. Some offer developer services like programming or art assistance, social media or release management or have their own QA departments. Some do this in-house, many outsource. Some charge fees you might not expect. Some try to take some or all of your IP, immediately or eventually. All of them expect their money back and more & all have complicated contracts written in legalese.
  • At Game State we have first-hand experience of working in games publishing and understand the processes. We know how to pitch to each publisher, what you should (and shouldn’t!) say, what is reasonable to ask for and what is not, how to negotiate contracts.
